Nether Lypiatt Manor – Listed Building , Brimscombe, Stroud

/Status: Listed Building Consent approved

This Listed building application was for the conversion of a grade II listed stable buildings to a home gym within the curtailage of Nether Lypiatt Manor. Although structurally sound the building fabric itself had been somewhat neglected and so it was proposed to repair the stonework, lintels and windows with the aim to enhance and preserve the existing building. A design for the conversion was proposed which was sympathetic to the existing fabric of the building and preserved all of the existing internal details such as cobbled concrete floor and Victorian stable partitions. The proposal included a 'dry' system which meant that in the future it could be removed without damaging the existing fabric of the building. All necessary details were considered, which lead to an unconditional approval and positive testimonial from the senior conservation officer at Stroud District Council.

'It was an incredibly well put together application, so there are no conditions attached.' Senior Conservation Officer at Stroud District Council.
